Our Unstoppable Lightning Won’t Stop Now
by Sean Mills
The coronavirus pandemic is not going to stop the Tampa Bay Lightning from defending the Stanley Cup in the 2021 playoffs. And the Lightning isn’t going to leave their fans in the lurch either.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced a series of playoff watch parties hosted right at AMALIE Arena in Tampa. The watch parties will be for away games as the team chases back-to-back Stanley Cup championships.Â
The Bolts are currently 2-0 in the 2021 playoffs, having already trounced the Florida Panthers at the BB&T Center. The official watch parties are hosted by Bud Light and will feature live entertainment, appearances from ThunderBug and other Lightning personalities, giveaways, concession specials, and much more.Â
The parties will be inside the arena itself with proper social distancing guidelines, including seating groups of one to six people in distanced pods. Tickets for the away watch parties are only $10, with some of the proceeds going to benefit Lightning Foundation charities. Doors will open roughly 75 minutes before puck drop.Â
For home games, the Bolts will be hosting outdoor Lightning Plaza Parties. These events will be held on Ford Thunder Alley outside AMALIE Arena with socially distanced tables. These outdoor parties will feature live music, giveaways, and more. Tickets are only $8, available for pods of one to eight people. The Tampa Bay Lightning will face the Panthers again at home on Thursday, May 20, and then again on Saturday, May 22. If necessary, Game 5 will be in Sunrise on Monday, May 24, with Game 6 in Tampa on May 26, and a possible Game 7 in Sunrise on May 28.Â
Tickets are still available. For more information, visit www.NHL.com/lightning.Â
