Kitchen Social is Coming to UTC in 2026 — and the Open-Air Deck Keeps the Social Vibe Going

What Fans Say
  • “You are going to kill it in Sarasota!! How can we get an invite to the soft opening :)” - Tina Krider
  • "SO EXCITED! I’m going to the one in Dublin tonight and counting down till it opens at UTC soon! Whoo Hoo!" - Shelley Golda

Sarasota, FL — Kitchen Social will make its Florida debut at 257 N. Cattlemen Road in the West District at University Town Center (UTC) in 2026. The Ohio-born, scratch-kitchen brand is building out the former Rusty Bucket space into a light-filled, indoor-outdoor restaurant designed for lively brunches, dinners, and late-night socials.

A layout built to invite you in

One detail that stands out in the Sarasota plan: the open-air, streetside deck. It continues UTC’s growing run of indoor-outdoor patios—think of the way Rocco’s Tacos activates its corner with al-fresco energy—and should make Kitchen Social feel welcoming to passersby from the moment the lights go up. In short: more fresh air, more “I-have-to-check-that-place-out” curb appeal.

Proven in Ohio, ready for the Gulf Coast

Since opening in 2019, Kitchen Social has grown to five locations across Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, building a reputation for “craveable” comfort-meets-global dishes (from cheddar-scallion biscuits with honey butter to miso-glazed salmon and Szechuan noodles). Sarasota fits the brand’s next-market strategy and plugs into UTC’s momentum as a regional dining hub.

Fans are already lining up

The Sarasota announcement drew more than three dozen shares and roughly 500 organic comments on Kitchen Social’s social channels—an eye-popping response for a market entry post. One fan, Tina Cook Krider, summed up the mood, stating: “You are gonna ‘kill it’ in Sarasota!! How can we get an invite to the soft opening.”

The menu: scratch-made favorites, global touches, and a value-forward Social Hour

Kitchen Social’s menus are built around share-friendly starters and comfort-with-a-twist mains. Signature items include Cheddar + Scallion Biscuits (with honey butter), Whipped Feta with sweet-spicy peppers and honey, Crispy Thai Shrimp, Short Rib + Carrot Hummus, Eggplant Meatballs, Street Corn Nachos, Nashville Shrimp + Grits, and Korean BBQ Cauliflower. Brunch brings a Mimosa Sampler and the KS Bloody Mary. The bar leans into the brand’s “Social Hour” (Mon–Fri, 3–6 pm) with half-off starters and pizzas (except The Biscuit), $3 off Social Cocktails and wine by the glass, and $1 off draft beer. Menus flag gluten-free options, and there are kids’ and dessert sections, plus family-style takeout for nights in.

What sets Kitchen Social apart at UTC

  • Open-air hospitality as a design principle. That deck keeps the energy visible from the street and matches Sarasota’s alfresco lifestyle.
  • Approachable, “craveable” menu built for sharing. Starters that travel the table and globally-inspired comfort entrées give it a different lane from several chef-driven or single-cuisine neighbors.
  • A strong value window. The weekday Social Hour discounts on starters, pizzas, cocktails, wine, and drafts create an everyday reason to stop in—useful for shoppers and after-work crowds.
  • Momentum + brand affinity. The pre-opening buzz and heavy engagement signal a ready-made audience when doors open.

Why it matters

  • Momentum at UTC: Kitchen Social joins a slate of notable concepts headed to North Cattlemen Road, reinforcing UTC as a “try-something-new” dining destination.
  • Economic lift: A first-market opening means construction jobs now and dozens of hospitality roles at launch.
  • Place-making: Indoor-outdoor design keeps diners visible and engaged, extending the evening buzz onto the sidewalks and tying the district together.
